Masa Ushioda Original Photographic Art Prints

The Print

Our prints are work of art similar to those traditional Cibachrome/Ilfochrome photographic prints. The color is vibrant, sharp and deep. All prints will be custom-made in a professional photo lab in the US mainland, featuring Masa Ushioda signature. Each piece will be thoroughly examined and quality-approved by the photographer himself.

Now we offer 1 - 1/2" thick Gallery Wraps in various sizes. Unlike typical Giclée printed canvas wraps, ours use the same high quality photographic prints that are permanently bonded and laminated to canvas. Quality of our photographic canvas wraps are superior to those directly printed Giclée canvas wraps.

Kodak Logo

We use exclusively Kodak Professional Endura Papers for all photographic printing for brilliant, bold color, high contast, and of course, for its superb archival quality. Ushing this high quality photographic paper, we employ the state-of-the-art, high-end digital laser printers such as Kodak RP30s, Durst Theta 50, or Theta 76. All of our prints are TRUE photographic prints which use traditional silver halides - light sensitive chemical compounds. According to Eastman Kodak, these latest photographic prints will last 100 years in typical home display and 200 years in typical dark storage, that is far sperior to the 60 year longivity of Giclée (ink jet) prints which are also susceptive to surface scratches.

Preservation Tips

If you take necessary steps to protect the prints from atmospheric contaminants like UV and humidity, your print will be preserved with minimal color changes for 200 years, generations to enjoy. Please follow the following tips to maximize the life of your print and value.

  • Please do not display it outdoor. Any photographic prints are very sensitive to UV.
  • For indoor display please consider placing your print where it would not be exposed to direct sunlight.
  • Please frame your print under glass, anti-reflective glass or Plexiglas with acid-free archival mats and proper framing materials.
  • For storage you can place it in common photo albums or in acid free, archival protective sleeves for larger prints, and then store it in archival boxes to avoid sunlight and any other contaminants.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding how to preserve your print, please do not hesitate to contact us.
